Scope¶
CPU Servers for Physics Data Processing.
Description¶
The supply consists of about 1,600,000 HEP-SPEC06 of energy-efficient rack-mountable systems suitable for use as computational servers (henceforth called “CPU servers”). CPU servers are hereinafter referred to, in whole or in part, as the “Supply”. CERN will perform the adjudication on half of the supply (i.e.: 800,000 HEP-SPEC06).
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, each configuration shall meet the detailed requirements described in subsequent sections of this specification. The enclosure shall contain at least 2 hot-swappable system units, and each system unit shall contain at most two processors of the x86 architecture providing Intel 64 or AMD64 extensions. All server configurations shall be assembled using identical chassis and mainboards.
